I’ve always wanted to be called “mommy” as soon as we found out we were pregnant with our first child. And for the most part, he calls me “mommy.” But once in a while, he’d say “mama.” Many times, he’s say it when he’s being sweet or trying to make a puppy dog face type of request, even up to now.
And our now 19 month old daughter is starting to talk. We make repeat whatever we’re saying. And instead to calling me Mommy, she calls me “Mama!” I can’t believe how endearing it is to hear that word. I don’t know if I should just switch out the name completely and be called Mama instead of “Mommy.”
Either way, I’m so blessed to be a part of their lives.
Still sweet. I dread the day when my kids stop calling me “Mommy” and say “Mom” instead.
