The other day, I was craving some Arroz Caldo/ Lugaw, a Filipino dish that’s like a rice porridge and many times it has chicken.
Unfortunately, I really didn’t feel like running all over town to go to a Filipino restaurant to get one.
I also know that the Latino Culture have their own version called “Pollo con Arroz,” but I haven’t asked any of my friends around to find out where’s the best place to find some.
So we ended up in Chinatown, I figured we’ll get some dimsum instead. And to my surprise, the same place we always go to for take out dimsum also have a rice porridge.
It’s called Congee. And it’s awesome, you can tell them what you want on it, you can pick chicken, beef or fish.
So there…
In Filipino it’s called Lugaw or Arroz Caldo
In English its called Rice Porridge
In Spanish it’s called Pollo con Arroz and
In Chinese its called Congee
