Yesterday was unbelievable! We left the house at 1pm and got back at 6:30 pm traveling from Pasadena to Sunland to Lawndale and back home. We attended 3 parties in one day. It was pretty hectic!
We could have spent a longer time on any one of them if we had only one to attend but it was good time well spent. Our longest drive was going to Lawndale, or was it Torrance or was it Inglewood? Ha! Who knows? Even the GPS can’t make up its mind! Oh well.
The kids were great during the trip, They took a nap on the drive to the parties. Elle slept on the way home too. Aaron was up on the way home, even though it was an hour traffic on the road.
DD was happy for the most part except for her getting tired and wanting me to put her to sleep when it was normally naptime for her.
DS is such a good boy. He sees other kids getting all wild and decides not to copy them. He would just go on playing the way he normally does, a little more calmer.
We’ve been going through a new routine lately that before we go to bed, as we lay there in the bedroom, we would review our day. It’s our little way of making him remember certain highlights of our daily activities which might soon turn out to be lasting memories. This also gives him an opportunity to express his feeling for certain events that have occured. He’s been initiating the conversation by saying, “Let’s talk about our day!” Something he picked up from my husband.
Well this night, he particularly recapped the 3 parties we attended. He mentioned how he enjoyed picking flowers, watching the bubble show and dancing around. He also mentioned that when he jumps and runs too much, he starts coughing, which he did earlier, ha!
It was such a day, but I’m glad DS had fun. When DD gets older, she can participate in the chaos errr i mean the parties as well.
As parents, driving around to attend children’s parties is now a part of our job. Besides catching up with other people we havent seen in a long time, it gives us an opportunity to observe other parents, kids, events, etc that we can use in our own family. While we’re out there, we might was well make this a learning experience right?
