Many times, there are not enough hours in a day to finish all our chores and projects. But we do need to sleep too. What do you do to make yourself sleep? I have a few tested techniques that have helped me during those nights that I just can’t sleep. Who knows, it might work for you too.
1) The dot technique. I close my eyes and imagine the word “dot.” I focus in on the letter “o” and imagine a dot in the middle of it. Then I focus on the dot and think of nothing else but the dot. When I forget about everything else that may be keeping me up except for that dot, I end up falling asleep.
2) The Fade-away technique. I lie on the bed and look for an object i can focus on. Then I slowly close my eyes and open them back up looking at the same object. I keep repeating this action but taking longer each time to open my eyes. After the 4th or fifth time, I’ve already faded away in my sleep.
3) Leaving the light-on technique. I don’t know what its about with the light on. But if I’m tired but can’t go to sleep, I lie on the bed and stare at the light on for a while. After a minute or two, I close my eyes and I end up falling asleep. This works best if there’s complete silence in the room.
The above worked for me. Feel free to share your own experiences in the comment section.
