It’s been a week since my last post. Whoa! I survived without blogging for one whole week! Actually, I’ve been sooo tired and busy that I just had to take a break. But here’s a little recap…
Last week was filled with much anxiety and stress over our new change of schedule this week. A co-worker of mine put it best by saying, “It’s like our first day of school!” It wasn’t so bad, but we (the whole fam bam) still need to adjust to our new schedule.
Thursday I had an office recognition with some co workers. We were treated to lunch at Tokyo Wako and got ice cream from Cold Stones. They also gave us a ticket to watch whatever movie we wanted but we had to be back to work at 4:30. I decided to get a pedicure instead. I asked for a little bit more time so I can have dinner with DH. He picked Sushi Afloat. That was such a quick way to grab dinner. We were in and out of there in 30 minutes.
Saturday we went to the Marukai in Hawthorne to hunt for some cute Japanese imports. To my disappointment, I found none. After that, we headed to my best friend’s daughter’s party. I saw two of my old best friends, that alone was worth it. Then to see all our kiddies together, that’s a bonus!
At the party, my god-daughter and the birthday girl stayed with us the whole time. Later on, more kids started hovering around us, (me, DH, DS and DD). It was the weirdest thing. We don’t even know most of these kids. DH decided to entertain them by starting out two games. Then, I ended up doing the arts and crafts with the kids. All this was unplanned, but it turned out fine. At the end of it all, half of those kids were calling me godmother. How funny! And I had a blast!
Sunday, the church was packed because of the Anniversary, so even the nursery was full. I took DS out in the yard and we were followed by more kids. It seems like we have a big sign on our head saying “KIDZONE!” hahah. Oh well, I watched the kids as they played and we told stories and played pretend. So much fun.
After church we went to take DS to pick his very first pumpkin. He picked two small ones, one for Daddy and one for Mommy. And two even smaller ones for him and his sister. Who knew picking pumpkins would be so hard!
Monday was the day I start work at 10AM. I got up on time, got the kiddies ready and dropped them off their lola’s house. It wasn’t so bad. Unfortunately we had to knock out early because the Benadryl I took for my allergies won’t let me stay up. We can get used to sleeping and waking earlier. No problem.
Now the decorating contest at work is getting serious. We thought we were winning with our graveyard scene until one of the other teams pulled off a children of the corn scene in one day. Tomorrow is our last day to redeem ourselves before judging on thursday.
I took DH and the kiddies upstairs tonight to check out the decorations on our floor. DS was so cute, he didn’t get scared or anything, he thought everything was funny. He knew they were just pretend. Good boy!
Then we walked from my work to my favorite Thai Restaurant in Old Town Pasadena. The kiddies are so wonderful. DH had to take them to MC D’s and the 99 cent store today by himself and they were awesome. Yes my kids are awesome. My Darling Husband is awesome! It was a great family night!
