My hair is naturally curly. My parents often remind me of how kinky my hair was when I was born. For as long as I can remember, I’ve never really liked my natural curls. As soon as I became conscious of my appearance, I started blow drying my hair straight. I’ve always envied other girls who had the long , straight shiny asian hair. Lately, I’ve even been undergoing the japanese hair straightening treatment. Unfortunately, it’s 5 hours long. I can’t be sitting in a salon for that long when I can be taking care of my children.
Last week, my mom mentioned how my hair has been getting so long. She doesn’t like it. She thinks it makes me look much older than I really am. Being the wonderful child that I am, I listened. I went to the salon yesterday and told the girl I wanted something easy to maintain. So , she gave me some layers.
All I have to do is brush my hair and put in some leave in conditioner and voila…. it can dry pretty decent. For now, I saw buh-bye to the blow dryer, as I embrace my natural curls!
