I’ve been having a cupcake craving all week long. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the chance to pick up some eggs from the store. I was also dreading on using the stove to bake some co’z it’s been sooo hot. But since they were having a cupcake sale at Vons, DH let me give in to my craving. We stopped by Vons last night on our way home from work.
DD was wonderful, just content as long as I was holding her in the carrier. DH put DS in those shopping cart cars, which he normally loves. But last night, DS was acting very different. He kept trying to get out of the car and touching everything he can find. Yuck! It was very unlike him to not be keeping his hands for himself. He was also a bit more stubborn than usual. I’m just glad both me and DH was there to try to keep him out of trouble.
I realize there are many people that don’t like kids and get very judgmental of parents with uncontrollable children. No one gets more annoyed of bratty attitude more than me, that’s why I try very hard to make sure DS is always well behaved and respectful. I mean I know my children won’t be perfect, but DS, he IS still a little boy. He’ll want to get unbuckled when he just got his seat belt fastened, he’ll want to touch anything within reach, he will pick up an item from the shelf and say, “Can we buy this,” he will point to objects in excitement that’s familiar to him, he’ll choose not to listen to you and do what he feels like instead, and he will keep asking, “What’s that?” over and over again, <— But all in one trip to the grocery store?? Ha ha! Yup! I’m glad that was over! Whew!
No, I’m not planning on never ever taking DS back to the store co’z he brought home all the germs he touched from there. It was a great learning experience, both for DS and us. I reminded him that the importance of keeping his hands to himself in public (He had a hand washing session up to his arms when we got home). And I was reminded that it’s not always easy to control children in public and it’s important as a parent to keep that authority figure at all times.
What an exciting adventure to the grocery store, lol!
