I love our DVR (Digital Video Recorder), others have a Tivo!
This is actually one of those technological advances that we just got recently, can you believe it? Well, it had a lot to do with how much it was when Tivo first came out. I mean, why would I pay for $199 for a Tivo box and still have to subscribe for $15 a month? That seemed very unreasonable to us. It was too much money that we didn’t feel like we want to spend.
When DH upgraded and renewed our contract with Dish, we got our new digital receivers, more HD channels and 2 DVRs. At first I was like, whatever, it’s just something that’s there. I didn’t even want to learn how to use it. I didn’t think it would make any difference whether we have it or not. Little did I know how much I would love it.
Our DS loves Hi-5. Unfortunately, it only airs at 4:30 AM. He never gets to watch so many episodes aside from the ones on his dvds. And now, he gets a fresh new episode every day! This comes in handy when we want to get him to do something. He’ll do anything just to watch a new episode of hi-5.
Anyway, I’ve listed the reasons why I love our DVR so much!
1. We don’t have to miss any of our shows when we’re away or asleep.
2. We can record just new episodes so we don’t have to watch re-runs.
3. We don’t have to keep on switching channels when 2 shows we like are on the same time. We can record one or both at the same time.
4. Recorded shows come in handy when there’s nothing good that’s on.
5. Having kids around mean never being able to catch everything that’s happening on the show. It’s nice to be able to rewind back to see what you missed.
6. Being able to skip commercials, man, that’s awesome!
7. We don’t have to panic when DS asks to watch Wilbur at 8pm at night when it’s not on.
