Yesterday, our son’s dental work was completed. He had a total of 5 crowns and a couple of fillings.
He’s been good with brushing his teeth all this time, the only problem was that he used to drink milk a few times throughout the night after he already brushed his teeth to either put him to sleep or to put him back to sleep. Recently we switched him to watered down unsweetened apple juice. We’re hoping he would be fine to switch to just water soon.
Anyway, our experience with the dentist was very pleasant. We went to Children’s Dental Group. I think it’s only here in California, but I’m sure there’s something like it in other states too. They have a wall of game consoles, a kiddie ride and a projection screen with movie theater seats in the reception area. Once we got inside, there was another wall of games for the kids waiting inside, big screens showing kiddie shows and balloons on every examining chair.
The best part of it is that they made our son very comfortable. The assistants and dentist were very nice and friendly. My son didn’t have a problem going with them, even when he couldn’t see me during the procedure. We ended up going for 2 days to complete everything we needed to get done and my son was more than happy to go back. I think it’s probably because of the great atmosphere or friendly staff. Then again, it might also because the staff gives him 2 toys after each visit haha!
