Works for Me Wednesday-Tips to Keep Cool
Hey there! It’s been really hot lately. Is it summer already? Ha! I’ve been trying to find my summer clothes already and trying to put away the jackets and sweaters. Yesterday, I even had the chance to go swimming for the first time this year.
Well, here are a few tips to keep cool…
1. Dress light- Layers are still in style, but try to stick to as few layers as possible
2. Drink plenty of fluids- Always have drinks in the fridge or the freezer to go
3. Turn off lights and appliances when not in use- They emit unnecessary heat
4. Turn on the fan-Use the fan to bring the cool air in
5. Go to the beach- Temperatures at the beach are normally lower than in the cities
6. Cover your windows- Use curtains, blinds or screens to block off direct sunlight from your windows
By the way, today, Wednesday April 30, 2008 is 31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins. What a way to beat off the heat! woohoo!
A trick I do to cool off quickly is to run cold water on my wrists. I don’t know why this works, but it does–just hold your wrists under cold, running water!
We are hot too!
Can I add to your list?
Dress in loose clothing. The tighter it is, the hotter it feels.
And I echo mom2fur, but at the other end. We often run up to the bathroom and rinse off our feet. Helps us feel cooler.
Yay for your trip to the beach, I am sure that helped cool off, those ocean breezes and all.
Happy Summer
