I’ve been reading about BMI this is what I found.
Your BMI or Body Mass Index is an indicator of body fat. Medical professionals use a person’s BMI as a tool to determine health risks for certain individuals.
To calculate your BMI, you have to divide your weight (in lbs) to you height (in inches) squared and multiply that by 703. For example: [145 ÷ (62)2] x 703 = 26.5
This is the standard being used currently
Below 18.5 Underweight
18.5 – 24.9 Normal
25.0 – 29.9 Overweight
30.0 and Above Obese
Pretty much according to medical professionals, if your BMI is over 25, you are at a risk for certain illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, etc.
